Rented a SG and I Hated .......
Hated the fact that I waited so damn long to ride ONE!!!!!
I rented the street glide yesterday (Sat) for a day. Put 275 miles on her in 24hrs. I currently own a SE Fatboy. I rentd a RK last weekend since the person who rented the SG kept it for an additional 3 days. So since the RK and SG where my two choices, I rented the RK. It was ok, I left there with an (Ok kind of feeling for it). So this weekend, they called me and the SG was in. I pick it up...pop in a CD and pulled off. After riding for about a mile, I pulled over, got off.... looked, waited and got back on. I had to check to make sure I was not just SMILING from the anticipation!!! I was very impressed with the ride and handling. I hooked up with my friends who where heading to South Beach for a cruise and had a very very different and enjoyable ride. I had my tunes, still had wind but not pounding my body, a more comfortable ride, had my jacket and stuff stored for the evening and still had the "Looker Factor". Yes.. this bike is sweet! The low profile wind screen actually works perfect for me. I'm 5'4 and the windshield fits right.
So... needless to say, I just left my local dealer and placed my order!!!![sm=happybounce.gif] ....and much to my surprise, they have one being delivered (Scheduled) the last week of this month. Right before Daytona Bike Week!!! Apparently someone had thier eye on it but could not decide and did not leave a deposit thinking they had a few more days......NOT
So, the fun part starts. The price is already climbing. For starters I'm going to get the Stage II, with SE slip ons installed by the $tealer.
I hope to have some goodies here before the bike arrives. Trying to decide on after market wheels and size. Any ideas, suggestions??

RE: Rented a SG and I Hated .......
I rented a SG this past Wednesday myself. Took both a SG and a RG for 100 miles each. RG road very nice but I felt isolated from the road. Loved the SG. I'm not much taller at 5'-7" but I am getting a slightly taller wind deflector. Personally I'm going Vivid Black with gloss black front end.
Enjoy the new scoot.

I rented one in Phoenix in December...that did it for me. Got mine 3 weeks ago.
Just went past 150 miles today.
I'm happy.

RE: Rented a SG and I Hated .......
Ty, you did it right by driving the RK and the SG first before buying either one. I'm an impulse buyer and that is why I have my SG - I seen it and had to have it and set out to get one. I bought mine sight unseen and without a test ride. And from the feedback from you guys who have racked up many miles on their SG's makes me feel even better knowing I made the right choice. This is my first Harley Davidson too. I came off a '03 CBR 600RR with a 1 year hiatus from riding before getting on my SG and riding off the dealer lot fall of '05.
My scoot has only 226 miles on it and I look forward to putting many more on this spring and summer.

PhatHarley4Me,
Okay, where did you get it? I work at Peterson's North. You'll love it, I got mine the end of November and I have 3,000 miles on it now.

Dave !
I've seen you before bro.... I bring my bike there for service. I'm working with Ray. I heard about you and the other person there who purchased the SG. You have the 2 in 1 and he has the dual. You went the Black out route, he went the chrome way. Small world huh? I've been going back and forth with getting a bagger for months now. The Street Glide was not even in the picture until I saw one you had on your show room floor. I saw the Blue you had there last week also. Anyway, I will look for you tomorrow. Did not have enough time to finish up my "Wish" list before closing.
