Might Move to Dallas area
Guys,
I know there are a few of you from the Dallas area.
I am from Omaha NE and am looking at a job offer in the DFW area.
what parts of town do most of you live?
where is the good riding? I hear talk of hill country down there.
Just more info to help me think on.
thanks

Where you are going to work will probably have a lot to do with where you live. The DFW metro area is big. Traffic during rush hour(s) can wear you out. Most people drive too fast and are inconsiderate. If you bike in the metro, bring your defensive riding skills with you because you will use them. Overall your insurance rates (home, car, bike) are going to cost more here.
That said, there are great roads all over the area once you get out of the metro. You want it, it's all here within a few hours.
If you got kids, that will have a lot to do with where you want to live. The schools vary a lot around this part of the state.
It's not like Omaha!

I lived in Dallas area for almost 10 years. You will like the longer riding season, but probably notheat in the worst part of the summer. I enjoyed riding in the cooler evenings during the summer. Generally speaking, I think its better to have a Harley in Texas than a sportbike which is what I rode when I lived there). You have to ride a good distance from Dallas if you are looking for allot of curvy roads, but nothing much wrong with cruising on the endless miles of farm to market roads on your HD. You'll also enjoy the great food, and no better place in the USA for beautiful women than Texas IMHO.
