Guys this is like asking which girl is better---the plain one that knows how to cook or the smoking hot blonde with big cans
Sorry - pretty simple choice!!
I'm sure all those Standard guys are mad now, but most of them are on Ebay right now trying to buy used Street Glide parts.
Smokin'

08 SG Pearl White - Supertrapp, SEAC, IED's and a bunch of Chrome

and NO, my wife can't cook, thank you

So, I think you need to reassess.
I do believe your H/D design dept must need to hold your hand to help you find your way to kewl - stock kewl ...

OTOH, those of us with standards, are certainly anything but Standard.

You ought to learn some respect for the ones that brought kewl into the grocery store for you to buy off the shelf.

Now I will go smoke one, go surf, and be happy about it - one of the many delights of living in California.

SGs are cool bikes, but they are still like your neighbor's SG. Not the case with a custom EG standard with a couple of grand of extras.

pricing aside.
except for a couple minor differences in the standard options
and the SG has a diffrent rear fender (I'm generalizing here)
for all intents and purposes they are the same bike.
when sales slump bring out something that is the same oh same oh.
But give it a new name and hype it and some sucker will buy it.
Matter of fact this can be applied to the Road Glide as well.
Different fairing and cosmetics, but it's the same as any other
FLHT underneath (frame, basic harness, wheels (or choice thee of)
engine, tranny, trunk, saddle bags etc.)
It's just the cosmetics and standard items that differ.
