Have the HD 3 pocket and yeah...they do collect debis and smudhe the windshield, but, hey....for the convenience????? You bet (and I get plenty of sand and rocks smacking the windshield anyway....50 to 70 bucks for a new on every 18 months or so is n big deal....eve if it was for just smudges.

I'd day get one!

I have looked at them also, but it looks like thay mark up the windsheld a bit, also cant find one that you can fit a cd in,mite just go with the ones that fit on the rear crash guard.

I use mine all the time. Sunglasses, cell phone, gloves and a little note pad. Wouldn't be without it.

Because I've had the 3 bag pouch on this and other bikes, kind of got used to the convenience. But found that it didn't fit well with the oversized dark smoked wind deflector (the ends of the 2 outer bags hung over the side of the shield). So I cut the 2 outside bags off with tin snips then filed the rough edge and marked the cut edge with perminent black. I also stuck on the soft side of velcro to the bottom to help prevent rattle and or scratchind to the dash. Now I just have 1 bag (the center bag) about 6 inches long. It did work with the HD Dashboard installed.

If you are looking to buy a non HD one be careful. I bought one last year on ebay. It was mounted on a leather backer which was too thick to fit the fairing. I remounted it. By the time I got back from Sturgis, one of the catches was broken and all three were all rusted. I guess you get what you paid for. Now I need to get a HD one I guess.

One more thing and I hope to not freak anyone but.... never put anything in a windshield bag that you can't easily replace. When the guy took me out on my RKC the windshield went flying. My cellphone was fractured and I loss my H-D Skull ring, a silver bike chain bracelet as well as another ring. My garage remote survived but there's $200 worth of jewelry out there on the freeway somewhere.

I have the single pouch that Harley sells and think it is less obstructing of forward vision and holds a ton of stuff. With it's simple to open cover you can access while riding.

Pros and cons to having one I guess, but personally I ride to get away from the cell phones, etc......, 2 hard bags hold a case of beer and anything else needed for a days ride. If papers and calls are that important, you are going to have to stop anyways, lift the lid on those bags and there they are.

I'm looking to get a 3 pouch for my 06 Ultra. I had a single pouch on my Fatboy and it came in real handy for smokes, sunglasses and a pad of paper and pen.
The only thing I don't like about the HD ones is that they quit making them with turnbuckle closures and went to velcro. When I do get one, it's off to my leather guy to put turnbuckles on it. I hate anything to be velcroed.
