Mobil 1 75w90 Gear Lube

RE: Mobil 1 75w90 Gear Lube
Redline Heavy Shockproof in the trans (70w250). Very thick but that's okay, as there is nothing to pump ... gears just spin around in the fluid. FYI - My primary trans seal leaked when using Harley's SYN5 ... too thin and slippery for me. Switched to Redline and problems went away.

75/90 gear oil is equivalent to 20/50W. Been using mobil 75/90W syn gear oil from when first hit the market several years ago without any tranny/gear problems
Yeah Walmart has stopped carrying Mobil 1 oil. Auto dept person said they weren't making enough $$ for the shelf space it took up

After lots of research, I plan to run:
Engine - Mobil1 20w50 vtwin (if can find vtwin)
Tranny - Mobil1 75/90
Primary - HD Formula+

WalMart usually has v-twin but not with the other lubricants, on a side shelf with the atv and motorcycle stuff

not enough difference in additives between Mobil 1 car oil and their V-Twin to justify the extra cost. 67K on my 2001 RK and has had 15-50 every 3K miles since the first change. i have Redline HD shockproof in tranny and synthetic ATF in primary. ATF is best for wet clutch contact.

RE: Mobil 1 75w90 Gear Lube
I use
Amsoil 20w50 in the engine
Redline heavy shockproof in the trans
Redline MTL in the primary
Redline has come out with oil that is designed for the primary in Harleys. I talked with Dave at Redline and he said the MTL is the same oil.
Redline and Royal Purple are rated slightly higher than Mobile1 and Amsoil.
