I just purchased my 1992 Eletra Glide. I am new to riding HD's so the feel of a HD is new to me. My question is.

When I'm down shifting from second to 1st, sometimes and this is only every once in a while, As I step on the lever the lever will pop back at my foot as if it didn't quite go into gear. The feeling startals me and I let my foot off. I will then try again and it goes in fine. This only happens once in a while and the trany shifts very smooth other then that.

Has anyone had this and is it a big concern?

Also, What is the best gear oil to use in the trany?

shouldnt be much concern sust make sure you crack the throttle on downshifts just enough to try to better match the engine rpm and the tranny rpm. it will make downshifts smoother.
