Inner fairing removal

RE: Inner fairing removal
I believe you can use the switch itself with out the spring to stick in the hole, that's what some of the members told me. It worked for me when I got the forks locked to the left by accident to unlock them. The Ignition Switch Alignment Tool is Part # HD-45962 and I don't even want to guess what Harley is asking for it, probably down payment of wife and at least one child or one arm and both legs, for starters. Good luck and I'm glad it helped some.

RE: Inner fairing removal
Harleyflo: CAUTION--the '06 and older ignition switch MAY BE DIFFERENT than your '07. IIRC, they are different, but I may be mistaken. I say this because I recall seeing posts by guys with '07 bikes who had problems with the ignition removal and lining things up with the tool; and, my experience after having removed the ignition many times for installing various switches in the fairing cap for lights, cruise, painted inner fairing, etc. is that I never needed a tool to align anything. Once the ignisiton **** was removed, it would go back in the same way.
