it all depends on your riding style if ya do 500 miles a day the adjustable is worth every penny if ya run to the bar and back a fixed is just fine

I have the mustang backrest and like it because it is thin and adjustable and works with the stock seat

I have the H-D adjustable & once I set it I never touched it again.
If I were in the market for a new backrest I wouldn't pay the extra for an adjustable one again...

Sorry, but that is not accurate. I've done plenty of 500 mile days and several 900 mile days. The fixed works just fine for me. The fixed was on the market for years before the adjustable and pleased many people. I can't see many people needing any backrest just to run to the bar.

I have an '08 Road Glide, bought the non adjustable backrest and for me it was a waste of money. Pushed me too far forward and was very uncomfortable. I'm 6'1" - 230lbs. I messed around trying to adjust the base plate, modified the base plate - still didn't work. Finally just took it off and now itsits on the garage shelf. Went with a Corbin Classic solo with driver's back rest (adjustable) and it works great. Anyone want to make me an offer on a great non-adjustable HD backrest??

I have the Harley adjustable on my Ultra. Love it. Never had the fixed so I can't make a comparison, but I have adjusted mine on the fly and it is easy to adjust while riding.

I had the H-D backrest with the factory seat and it is tolerable but not great. I now have the mustang vintage solo with driver backrest it fits the bill for me as I am completly satisfied with the setup. I am 165lbs and 6'2". If you decide to go H-D I will sell you my backrest it was $209.00 plus tax the mustang with removeable backrest was $409.00. In the long run the mustang was money better spent. The H-D backrestfits my body at an aquard position and feels like it is pushing me foward. Spend the coin on a mustang you will not be disapointed. Hope this helps you, Britt

Non adjustable, but once it's setup for you it's golden and you'll never want to ride without it. It makes the miles go so nice...

It took some messing around but once I dialed in the non-adjustable mounting position/angle, it's very comfortable.
