Just getting to the pushrods in my cam change........ I know or think I know that the outboard, meaning 2 pushrods coming away from the jugs are the EXHAUST push rods... am i right? Dont want to ph_ck up here!!!!!

The easiest way to remember is to look at the way the the lifter covers face. The ones that face to the outsides of the cylinder (i.e. the rear cylinder faces to the rear of the cylinder and front cylinder faces to the front of the cylinder) are the exhaust. The ones that face to the insides of each cylinder are the intakes.

if you are using the stock push rods....
outboard--exhaust----rods are black
inboard---intake---rods are shiny chrome

It's kinda logical....the two pushrods nearest the intake...carb or throttle body... work the intake valves. The two closest to the exhaust ports...pipes... work the... hmmm... must be for the exhaust valves. Not trying to be a smartass. If you don't analyze and think through what you're doing you'll have problems.
