I had someone try to steal mybike at a motel one night; thank goodness for the alarm. The bike was parked near my room and I think the site of a middlea ged guy in boxers with a 45 H&K scared the s**t out of them. I slept with one eye open for a couple more hours and finally gave it up and hit the road again at 4.

Sorry bastards are everywhere, I agree with the comment about insurance and just riding.

If youre worried about it, take them off and bring them inside with you.

I have done this on a couple of occasions. It doesnt take long to put them back on either.

Bolted mine on with a couple of 5/16machine screwsand wing nuts on the inside. Turned the front mount bracket upside down so you can only get tothe mount boltwith the bag off. As long as I remember to lock them, I feel pretty secure about them not walking away.

Good idea on turning the mounting bracket upside down. headed to the garage now to look at mine.
