Default King Classic vs. Custom?

Exactly what's the difference between a Classic and a Custom? They are same core bike, right? I've heard there are a few parts that do not interchange between the two, is this correct? What are they? What's the differences?

I know a little about the differences...One that is not that obvious is the custom is lower than the classic. Cosmetically there are several differences. Bags, turn signals and a few other things.

And they don't make the custom anymore. 2007 was the last year. My stealership said they did not sell well.

Differences are: 1" lower than RKClassic & Standard, saddlebags, handlebars (awful!), nacelle (the wind deflector), windshield not included with Custom, wheels (which are chrome versions of the SG wheels), clean front fender (no tip light, trim, etc), no light on the rear fender tip, bullet turn signals on the rear instead of the huge bar-thing that's 2 feet wide, tank dash, tank emblems.

Things that won't fit from other RK's: seats, dash inserts

That's all I can think of right now. BTW, I have an 04 RK Custom and love it (after changing out the seat and handlebars, of course).

the custom has the 'clean' fender, no trim on it. has the new style taillights as opposed to the pancake turn signals. has hard leather streamlined bags. beach bars. chrome deflector, no windshield. more chrome on the engine. and 12 inch shocks. no cruise control. no passing lights. probably more, but basically the same bike, just cosmetically different (with the exception of the shorter shocks)

as noted above
the Road Kings (at least thru 05)do not have the same front suspension as the other touring bikes.

I have an 05 Custom. I was not aware the front suspension was different than the other touring bikes. What is different about it?

TheBlackBastard pretty much covered it. The Custom also looks better and you don't see everybody riding one.
