Isnt real easy to find the red bulbs. Kuryakyn sells them, as well as you can find them on ebay. Never did find a parts store in town that stocked them.

What is the standard turnsignal number, not the HD number, but the number of the bulb, is it a 1157?

Ok, I've decided to go with Smoke lens for my turnsignals front and back. I've ordered silver coated incandescent bulbs, red for the back and amber for the front, smoke covered turnsignal lenses, a front fender smoke lens, with a amber led bulb from Custom Dynamics. Their pricing seems reasonable. The smoke lenses are $1.95 each instead of $9.95 from HD.

Here is the link to Custom Dynamics:

I ordered from them before when I installed my LED accent lights and was happy.

From the Peoples Republic of Ohio and been running red lenses for over 15 years and touring most of the 48.
Never been stopped or questioned.
Had many comments on those that admire the look.

Bluetoys,

Where did you get the red bulbs from? Can I get them from NAPA or Autozone?

Thanks, Guys
They are Kuryakyn - red 1156. They have a really good looking, deep red color. >Here< is a site that has them. I dunno anything about the seller, this is just the first site that poped up on a google search.
I had a set of truck stop red bulbs in there, but they looked kinda orangish. They were real glass ones, not the painted ones, but they just didn't look right.
Here is an old pic to show the difference. It isn't a great pic, but it should represent what I am saying:

FYI guys, some of the lens were back ordered, so i just got the Custom Dynamitic stuff this week. Do not use the silver coated bulbs! Use the plain red or amber bulbs. These silvercoated bulbs produce a dull light.

On a high note, the smoke colored bullet lenses and the smoke colored front fender lens are very high quality, and much cheaper then HD.

I was told by the parts man at my local dealership that I can't put the Brakelight/Running Light Kit on the Street Glide rear turnsignals. That it's illegal because the turnsignals are too close to the tail light. If I had the wide turnsignas like the FLHT it would be fine. This is in Virginia, has any one else heard of this?
I've run red rear turn indicators on my Evo since 1993! No es problemos......
