Headlight flickering.....

Headlight flickering.....
Ok so my lately a couple times I turn the ignition on and the low beam is out. However, sometimes it comes right back on and the high beam never goes out. So I replaced the headlight bulb and it still does the same thing. Sometimes going down the road it will just go out and no matter how many times I flip the low/high switch it will stay out until it decides to come back on but the high never does this. Where should I start checking? The switch or the wire?

RE: Headlight flickering.....
If you don't have a good ground, the circuit will do all kinds of crazy stuff ta make one for itself - you wouldn't believe the goofy stuff ah've seen created by a bad ground! A quick an' dirty check is ta run a temporary ground from the battery to the ground side of the headlights an' see if the problem clears.....

RE: Headlight flickering.....
There are only 3 wires going to the headlight plug. low beam, high beam and ground...the ground is common to both the low and high beam....
i would look at the...i believe it is the yellow wire for the low beam......plug connection for the wire is bad, wire is broken somewheredown the line and making intermittent contact or the switch is bad.
I would pop the headlight assembly out of thenacelle/fairing and jiggle the wireswhile the headlight was in the low beam position.....this would be a quick way to see if it is the wire or connection.
