purely based on looks for me is the street glide. That is just my opinion. Both are cool bikes.

If you literally are doing "half your riding around town", I'd opt for the Street Glide. It's like driving a little hot rod as compared to a cadillac Road Glide.

The SG has been more popular for some time. However the RG has been one of HD's best kept secerts. The Rg has done good on the west coast but is gaining in other areas.
The frame mounted faring is great, not only for control but head lights are always pointed were the bike is going. The dual lights light up the road at night like a river boat.
The RG has the same frame as the other touring bikes but does sit just a touch higher. Thats one reason it coners so well.
I made the move last june to a Rg never looked back. Stick the tour pack and Eg seat on and touring bike for long trip. 10 minutes pop them off it's back to sporty looking bagger.
Quick release tour pack
EG seat
SG rims
Hertiage bars
Lenale paradefan
Dual horns relocated and hidden
Crome stuff
engine 100% stock 13,000 miles

I plan on trading my Super Glide Sport in on either a Road Glide or a Street Glide. One half of my riding is done around town, the rest on back roads touring, 50 to 65 mph. My main concern is wind turbulence. I am 6'1"s tall. Is the Road Glide much better in this regard?
I'm a couple inches taller than you, and felt like a Shriner on a minibike on the SG. The RG fits great, although I put the tall HD windshield on it. One year and 12k miles later, I still get a big grin every ride. I ride mine the ten miles to work often, and don't hesitate to take it 4-500 miles a day on twisty mountain roads. Wind won't wear you our - neither will turbulence off trucks. You will, however, soon find yourself running well over that 55-60 range.

I've been up to 105mph on my SG and think it rides like a Caddillac

Cool 09FLoaTeR

I swapped a Lowrider for my 09 RG. My buddy has a Classic and a SG. I put 200 miles on both and it took me all of 60 miles on my RG to know I had purchased the best ride,,, it took him just one glance. You can't get less turbulance without getting the lowers. Have ya'll noticed that when u stop the handle bars tend to aim themselves straight ahead?....... much UNLIKE my Lowrider. Just make sure you get what YOU want.
