Don't get a RG. It is gonna cost me a fortune for plastic surgery to wipe the smile off my face. (I like the scowling bad boy look.) I will agree with others here, the windshield from the factory is worse than having none. I am hoping a medium sized Clearview windshield will fix that problem. Waiting on it to be delivered in a week or two.

I went from a Road King to a Street Glide to a Road Glide and now I am back on a Street Glide. The RG is an incredible handling bike. No arguing that. It just didn't offer the protection from the elements (in the winter) that I want. And I wasn't about to experiment with windshields and lowers ($$$$) and have it not help.

I thought the factory windshield would be better since it is larger. Are you saying a shorter one is better for the RG? I am 5'8".

I've had a Road Glide for the past 8 years (2000 model year)...it's been a great ride but I just put a deposit on an 08 SG...have not ridden one yet, but planning on renting one soon...before the new one comes in! B.

just my .02 cents...Ride Safe...

I like the SG for wind protection with the fairing being closer to me,itprovides muchbetter protection than the Road Glide. As far as comfort the Road glide will ride softer due to the longer shocks in the rear

I had a 2000 RG. Bought a 2005 FLHTC Peace Officer Special. Hated the fairing. Converted it to a RG. Much better.

Rent and then decide on the one YOU want not whatanyone else wants or tells you you should buy because they have one.

I have not had the wind buffeting, cold weather protection, and windshield issues that I hear some people complain about.
I'm very happy with the RG and don't regret my choice.
