30T Drive Gear Appreciate your feedback!
Curious if anyone has any feedback on converting to a 30T Drive gear set up from the stock 31T. This is going to be on an 07 with a 6 speed and my thoughts are this will not only make 6th gear more useable but really help on the bottom. So have you done this to your scoot? Your overall impressions of the performance change and would you do it again? How hard was it to install? Time? Procedure? Did you use HD parts or aftermarket? Cost?
Thanks in advance for your taking the time to reply.
Real happy with the current performance but could always use some additional pull down low. Sixth gear is used sparingly currently. I spend 80% of my time below 70 mph.

I just installed the Andrews 30T front pulley along with an IDS. Stock pulley was a 32T. Very nice improvement! Not just 6th, but all the gears are closer together. Does require a shorter belt. Harley Part # 40056-07. 169.00 from Zanottis. You will need a 2.25 deep socket to remove the pulley nut. I went cheap an bought a 25.00 dollar axel nut socket, cut and extended it. Its about a 2-3 hour job depending on your experience. After riding it, if they made a 29T I would buy that and do it again.

I did the same gear change. I had to because of the cam/build I did. Before I cruised in 4th lugging between 65 and near 100 mph. I love it now, makes all 6 speeds usable, especially taking off in first. . The smaller belt is the same used for the international models.
