Harley GPS vs 3rd Party?

Harley GPS vs 3rd Party?
Advice please. I am considering a Road Tech™ Conquest GPS for a Street Glide. The primary attractions are the integrated fairing mount and the fact that the dealer is available for warranty service. Any advice on the advantages/disadvantages of the Harley GPS vs Garmins, Zumos, etc. would be much appreciated.

The Harley version is overpriced. Do you "really" need all the HD dealer locations preloaded. If you must go with
that type of GPS, go with the Garmin Quest 2, it is the same unit (dramatically cheaper), except it doesn't have the HD emblem
and no preloaded HD POI's. Garmin has a great warranty, better then HD.
From what others have said the Zumo is a better unit. You want a unit that that you can "touch screen" while
enroute. The HD/Garmin unit requires you to stop for do any searches etc.

Stay away from that fairing mount... The Cradle that holds the unit in place is made with a cheap plastic spring clip to hold it in place. I had 4 of them bounce off on rough roads. I was fortunate enough to catch each one of them so it never hit the street.(I was going slow) Garmin stood behind the product, and sent me the new cradles at no charge..
I finally bought the handlebar mount and never had another problem. But now I have 3 holes in my fairing that I had to plug and try to cover. The Fairing Dash from H-D hid 2 of them, and all you see of the third is a plastic hole plug...
I'll also agree with others. If you really need to harley Locations, you can add it to almost any GPS out there. As long as it accepts custom POI's your good to go, and the download is readily avalable on the net.
I went up to a Zumo this season, Its a great unit...

The Zumo 550 has a lot of features that are not available on the HD unit and is the choice of many on this and other motorcycle forums. You can also download all HD dealer locations to the Zumo, available from POI-Factory.com as well as many other POI's (this feature might be available on the HD unit too, as well as the ability to build maps on your PC and download them to the GPS). There are a host of mounting options for the Zumo from third-party providers. Overall, it seems like the Zumo offers more for the money.
