J&S jack bike fitment question...ready to order, BUT
I'm ready to order J&S jack, but no email answer yet from them on fitment question concerning if adapters are required to lift my sporty...I know it will work fine on my Road King, but I also want it to lift Sporty safely.
Anyone here have experience with it?

RE: J&S jack bike fitment question...ready to order, BUT
i dont think so keith. but i've already been wrong once today. my muncie tools jack that i had before had the sportster adapter. it just made the lift rails shorter(from side to side) so it would clear the exhaust. i had a '96. if you can zoom in on this pic ..............http://www.jsjacks.com/digitalphotos/jimhandlebars.gif its a dyna but it looks like the jack rails are pushed thru to the left side of the bike where it would lift the frame with the exhaust hanging over the ends of the lift rails. i've lifted sportsters on other jacks using 2x4's on the rails to clear the exhaust. i know nothing about the new r/m sportsters regarding the lifting / exhaust area situation
. i have a true track on my flhx (which takes the space in the crossmember where the J&S is designed to fit
) this causes the bike to pitch forward when lifted/the rear tire is 7" off the ground about the time the front tire lifts). it hasn't been a problem but it still bugs the hell out of me because the rear lift rail is lifting a beveled surface vs being "locked" in the crossmember channel. i'm going to cut 3 strips of 18 wheeler mudflap and stack them on the front rail. i always seen those mudflaps laying on the side of the road and now, nothing.............[sm=WTFsgign.gif]
as far as the jack,it is grade A stable. some negatives ? if it applies to whoever:
1>the width of the rails will not allow you to use one of those fixed stands that slides around the other jacks that have a narrower spread between lift arms, (allowing the bike to be on a stand with the jack removed ) and 2> the true track situation which is a fairly easy . i'm going to find some 1/8th" U channel that will stradle the front lift arm and bolt 3 layer of rubber on it so my bike will be level. then i might crawl up and sit on it. if i knew then what i know now..... i still would have bought it. i got rid of the muncie because it was rated at 750#
