SG or RK Classic

RE: SG or RK Classic
I love it. The guy comes on here and asks a simple question and it turns into a debate over whose bikes best.....RK....SG....RK....SG....There's a reason why the RKC is still in the HD-touring line, and has been for many years, and the RG is indeed a nice bike. I rented one in last year, just for this reason, to decide if I wanted a RKC or SG. Before I left for Hawaii I saw a brand new 07 RKC in the showroom and said to myself, that is my next bike. But also liked the SG, just didn't know about the fairing look. Mind you, I was 38 years old when I rented the SG and am by no means an old fart. But when we were tooling around on the island and stopping to shop etc, my wife looks at me as we're approaching the bike, and says "I just don't like the look" of that bike. A year later, standing in the showroom, an 08 SG and RKC sat side by side and I looked at my wife and said "which one should we get"....... "The RKC" she said. I was sold, I loved it because I had an 06 FLSTN and it looked like it's big brother. Black, lean and vintage lines. Stripped down, the nicest looking Harley made, hands down. There is a reason why they call it KING. Make your own decision and leave the debating for this forum, it's what we feed on. Now go buy a bike!

RE: SG or RK Classic
Thank you all for the posts and suggestions.
The winner..08 SG in Crimson Sunglow
Have a vivd black 07 StreetBob and wanted something a little different.
I am having the riders essentials kit added, but nothing else.
Waiting until the 1K for any upgrades. Was thinking of the Rush Slip-ons, SE air cleaner and the download from Harley.
Any other suggestions will be welcome

Congrats on your new Bike, I'm sure you'll love it!!
I thought about trading in my Road King for a Street Glide or even an Ultra but I love my King too much to let it go, so I decided to just buy the detachable lowers and fairing. Then I canstrip it down for the summeror completely dress it up for touring/winter riding, my fairing should be here in a couple weeks and I can't wait

For about the same price as a SG you can get a RKC with aftermarket fairing. Advantage is you can remove the fairing when you feel like cruising. I love my RKC. I do like the EG/SG but I like the ability to take the windshielf off my RKC and cruise with the wind in my face on short trips. In the future I will update to a fairing so I can have tunes for the long ride. Had I known about aftermarket fairings when I bought my bike, I probably would have scrimped on all the other accessories in favor ofa Deadcenter of Dragon concepts fairing.
... of course, to be fair, everyone who's bought an aftermarket fairing seem to indicate they never take it off.
