Default Motorcycle detailing

Has anyone ever had there bike detailed and what did it cost. What would you pay to have your ride cleaned up and polished.

To answer your question..No, never paid for a detail. Some here will say they ride so much that they don't have time to detail. I'm not overly concerned with bugs and such but one of if not the most important reason to do your own detail job is to put your hands on everything. I mean up top, on the sides, get under the bike, pull the bags and side covers. This way not only are you cleaning your bike but doing detailed inspections. It will save you time and money in the long run when you find a small problem that can be fixed with a screwdriver now vs a machine shop visit later. Just my .02 worth...I'm done.

Now if I could hire one of Bikini Bike Wash girls to hand me beer....well

I thought about it as well but I've spent enough on this bike and when you do it yourself it looks better and feels better.

Buy some Protectall and wipe it down after every ride.

FLHT says Bond with your bike and I agree get to know that thing inside and out

If you are able bodied enough to ride it, you are able bodied enough to clean it. Unless you let it go by not washing it often and letting it sit outside in the weather, there is no need having to spend hours "detailing" a bike to keep it looking good. I can S-100 wash, blow dry, wax, and be on the road in about 30 minutes. I usually do it every week or so, including wax/polish. When, I say wax, I don't mean a two hour job of rubbing and screwing around. I just wipe it on and wipe it off. If I miss a spot this time, I'll get it next time. Not only will your bike stay looking great, it will give you sometime to notice the things that are always loosening up and catch them before they fall off.

As others have stated, do it yourself and you get the opportunity to inspect things and tighten the bolts and screws as you go along.

Car Wash soap $7.00
Really Good Wax $9.00
6 pack of quality beer $8.00

Time alone with the bike.... Priceless

I clean my own bike I was checking to see if would be a decent business venture. From the replies I don't think I would make much.
