Default Wierd Noise?

Hello, I am new to the forum. My children have grown up to the point that I was finally able to buy a RKC.

I was riding today and I noticed a noise when I closedthe throttle as I wasdeclerating to a stop. I am not sure if it does it when I shift because of the pipes. However the noise sounds like it is coming form the front and it almost sounds like a slight belt squeek?

Any input would be appreciated.

check two things.

one belt tension and adjust as necessary (usually tighter)
two the exhaust flanges on front cyclinder and the muffler clamps and mounts.

When I've had the chirp it's always been the rear rubber muffler mounts. Spray some silicone or Armor-All and try it, or better yet replace them. I usually replace them every year or two.

In my case it only does it when themotor "sneezes", for lack of better words. And it sounds like it is coming from behind the intake.

Thanks to all the replies.

I am going to check a few things that were suggested and then go for a ride this weekend (if weather is nice) and see if I can get more specific on when it happens and when it does not.

I will post what I find

My 06 RKC has done it since new. Took it to dealer and they say,"its not as bad as some we've heard." So its not that uncommon but still anoying. When I installed my apes the handle bars rubbed the clamp cover and chirped a bit but was easily adjusted. i also checked all my exhaust shields and the armor all on the rear rubber exhaust mounts helps a bunch.
