Yeah I learned with the Deluxe that I don't want to do the whole list thing. I save the reciepts...but generally I don't want to know

I will say I have spent less on this bike so far...

I know how you feel, and here aremy solutions.

1. Don't get addicted to chrome. Chrome has its place, but too much chrome is just like too much of anything else. Most things "overdone" don't look right.

plus

1. Strip things off of the stock bike rather than adding things on. The "minimalist" look is really cool and usually refreshingly different than the typical over accessorized bike. Taking things off of the bike costs nothing!

Equals: More $ in your pocket and usually a significantly lighter bike.

Nice to know I'm not the only one continuously getting more "stuff" for my bike and catching he## from the wife for doing it. You'd think I'd learn not to poke the snake. For the record, I keep a list of alltheacquisitions (aka: necessities) I've gotten for my Street Glide. If you do keep a list, keep it hidden and keep it safe!

About the only thing I've taken off is the front bumper. Never did like that thing. Anyone interested? I'll let it go for about 3K!

What is the difference ?

You dress up the bike... How much does she spend dressing herself up ?
eye liner
lip stick
base
powder
cleanser/ creams and scrubs
20 varieties of nail polish
hair dye / hair dresser
shoes
newclothing every change of the season (last yrs isn't in fashion or doesn't fit)

The list goes on... every yr !!!

You chrome is interfering with her budget. [sm=trust_me.gif][sm=laughingsmilie.gif]

HMMMMM, An eye for an eye....it's makin some pretty good sense!!!

When my better half points out what I spend on mods, I remind her how frugally I aquire them and mention that that 10-year anniversary upgrade on her finger buys an'08 Sporty Custom 1200 out-the-door!

When I picked up my new Ultra Classic I promised my wife I would sell my VTX. But then I made the list of all the additions and how much they cost me. Then figured out what I could probably get sales wise -I would now be giving it away. Luckily my wife said she likes the look of the VTX so she said I could keep both - hmm, either there are a lot of shoes stashed away somewhere or some dude is hiding in the closet!.

The good thing is, you can go look at the motorcycle and see where your money went. If you had spent it chasing women and drinking, you wouldn't have any idea where your money went.

At least that's how I justify it all to my wife.

Don't ever write anything down that you might not want someone else to know! Especially the wife! Don't ask how I know!

Not to be repetitive but,
