Like said, burn or hide that list. You won't get anything of it out of resale anyway.

The part that pissed me off was I was very dilligent to save and categorize all of the paperwork, receipts and recods of my last bike. When I traded it in, nobody gave a crap. [:@]

I made that mistake on my Road King. With all of the extra money I dumped into it, I could have bought an Ultra Classic. When I bought my Electra Glide, I promised myself that the only additional money I would put into the bike would be for things that were needed to make the bike more enjoyable to ride. Stage 1, highway pegs, luggage rack, etc.

I kept the list on my first bike and had cost in it, the real bad news was what I got back when I traded it in. Not bad on the bike cost but got killed on the additions.

2 things to help put this in perspective...

The first one, my bride said to me when she bought me my SG for my 50th:
[blockquote]
"It's cheaper than a Porsche, or a girlfriend"[/blockquote]
And I remind her of that statement when I drop some coin on the bike.

The second helps to lay out an analogy that most women understand - shoes. I gently remind her how much she "saves" me when she goes shoe shopping. When reminded of that, the occasional trip to the HD gadget store usually pales in comparison.

And, if neither work, I buy her jewelry and we both get laid.

When my costs went higher then the cost of my bike is when my wife finally stepped in and had something to say.

It's only money. If you can afford it who cares.

By that logic I can also cross off the tourpac relocator kit. But that's about it. Better go buy mama some new shoes.
