Default air shocks

I have a hand bike pump, but I cannot get any air to enter the shock air valve. HD wants $48.00 for a tiny hand pump. They must have done something to the valve so you have to buy this from them. Does anybody know how I can get my Xcountry bicycle pump to work??? Thanks

Cant you just find a freind with a air compresor or gas station repair shop?
For 48.00 you can buy a small compresor from Harbor tools.

I would check the lines first. Is it any pressure in the lines?

Don't use compressed air. You could blow the shocks.

+1
if you use an air compressor, you better have a GOOD pressure regulator on it
better price out the cost of new shocks before you start trying to air them up without the proper tools.
you will find that 48 bucks is a hell of a lot cheaper than new shocks.

I have the HD pump. It's expensive but works very well and is compact.

On a side note: There is a small black button on the bottom of the unit. I thought it was to release air if you desired. But when I push it, no air releases. Do I have a bad pump????

HD adjusts the valve short so that other pumps won't reacht the stem core. the pump is nice and compact (i bought one, and love it). if you try you may be able to change the possition of the valve to make it work with the bicycle pump.

That bleed valve button releases a tiny amount of air each time you press it, not enough to show on the guage with one press. Press it repeatedly and it will adjust the pressure in small steps. That's why they call it a "micro bleed" valve. One of my better $35 purchases.

If you fully depress the button it will not release air, put just enough pressure on the button till you hear the air releasing.
