I broke a brand new OEM clamp with 9 inch long ratchet. Not the boltbut the clamp itself. So if you do CRANK DOWN HARD, be careful its not too hard.

Beer can shims.....Drink a couple of your favorite beverages, then cut rectangular shims outta the cans with a pair of sharp scissors. Put the shims between the clamp and the muffler flange. It will make the clamp grip tighter and seal the slits in the flange. I have been doing this for years to fix pesky leaks. It is a near must on an Ironhead where the pipes clamp directly to the exhasut ports on the heads. Works far better than goo in a tube.

Be care full not have the muffler on the bend when you clamp. The V&H true duals have a curve close to where the muffler will be, the clamp will stick in that area and will hold the muffler. Too far onto that area and you will have problems getting it off. The Se's are not as bad as the V&H mufflers. I have used beer cans more times than I can remember.

I have used on bikes and on VW's with much success. As others have pointed out, it does make removal more difficult....
