Was in the dealership yesterday and bumped into the manager. I asked him out of curiosity what was the ratio of the bikes that he was selling. I asked him that because when I look at the showroom floor there are no touring. His answer was 90% of his sales are Touring which Is why there are never any on the floor, cant keep them stocked. Is that representative of the sales in your area?

 

My dealer sells about 75% tour to the others, but they cant keep them in stock either.

 

The dealer right down the road from here has a ton of Dynas, a few softails and a couple of tourers.... Looks like either he anticpates selling a lot of Dynas or he's already sold everything else. Never thought to ask why....

 

Join a local H.O.G chapter and you will see that ratio as well. On certian rides you would think its a dresser only chapter.

 

Right now, the local dealer has 5 or 6 Touring bikes on the floor but that's unusual. The EGs, SGs, and RK move in out much more quickly than other models. They make some pretty nice deals on Dynas, and Sportster Models but forget about it on the Big Tickets. As mentioned above, look around our HOG Chapter, you'd sweat HD only makes Dressers.

 

TOURING BIKES SELL MORE AND LESS ARE MADE. RIGHT NOW SINCE IT IS WINTER YOU HAVE A GOOD CHANCE OF GETTING ONE. IN FLORIDA WHERE I AM THE CROWD STILL GOES FOR NON TOURING BUT THAT IS CHANGING BECAUSE MORE AND MORE 50 SOMETHINGS ARE RETIRING HERE. i DID. in the wind in pensacola.
