Another vote for J+S. Matter of fact I live just down the street fromJ+S. Wife got me one for X-mas, just got it out of the box a few weekends ago. Next weekend Ultra comes out of storage from the dealer from winter. From everything I researched and saw with my own eyes if your investing $$Thousands$$ in your toy, $300 in a decent jack seems smart doesn't it? I think it is.

Just my 2 cents...mps (WRFD Chief)

I have one of the cheaper red jacks and lost my bike off it the first time I used it and now have to have it strapped TIGHT every time I use it. Luckily I was on the slide side and caught it but it was a fightI almost lost, along with my bowels, maybe just a little but it's my story. I still don't trust it and only use it for my pan frame at the moment. I will be buying a J&S jack soon if they will sell me one as when I pick up my new Ultra I'm not taking any chances. I haven't seen any video yet of a bike being pushed around on a red jack yet. Now I'm all for saving some coin but I do alot of my own work on other bikes so for a couple more bills and a piece of mind I'll take it. I bet J&S doen't have the MADE IN CHINA sticker on it also. Just sayin.....

Here is a better comparison. Both are from the respective web sites. Listed spec's for the Sears Yellow, and the J&S

Sears Yellow Jack[/b]

Lift Equipment Type: Floor jack(s)

Item Weight: 44.0 lbs.

General Warranty: 1 year

General Features:

Capacity: 1,500 lbs.

Maximum Height: 19 in.

Lift Type: Floor jack(s)

Minimum Height: 3-1/2 in.

Color:
Overall Color: Gray

Materials & Finishes:

Material, Overall: Aluminum

J&S JACK SPEC’s
[/b]

Extra Wide - Extra stability and no adapters needed for Dyna Models.
1 3/4" Wide lift tables - Will fit inside rear frame support on Electra-Glide and Road Kings.
Rubber coated lift tables to prevent slipping and scratching on frame rails.
Five position automatic safety stops.
Cast iron - stationary front wheels.
Heavy duty steel casters on rear.
6 ton bottle jack, a 3 ton would do the job, but when lifting your $20,000 bike overkill never hurts. Also it is easier on the jack.
Two stop bolts to keep your bike from rolling away on a pitched surface.
Black powder coated paint for durability and a nice looking unit.
Hardened 1/2" bolts gives the strength you need to support the heaviest loads.
All MIG welded construction. Not a bunch of stamped out pieces.
Each lift individually hand made by American workers that care about what they are doing.
All units factory pre-tested - so we know you will not be disappointed when you receive your lift.
Lift height of 18" makes it a nice convenient level for maintaining, cleaning, and storage.
4" Collapsed height makes it easy to roll under even lowered bikes.

NO Comparison at all. J&S all the way!

http://www.pitbullmotorcyclelifts.com/This is the jack you want, much better than a table,I installed a 20 ton air jack I had laying around the shop ,it is sweet. It will also lift up my pick up and it will lift the Hoss with adapters.
Looking on that site...they have a reasonably priced wheel chock that looks pretty good @ $139

Agree 100%.

If you change your own fluids, get the drain pan option & you won't be sorry. It really works well.

I'll make things really simple. DO a search on this site for jacks. Read all the posts you find, count how many people had problems with the sears and harbor frieght jacks, -vs- how many had problems with the J&S or Pitbull...OH...My mistake...NOT EVEN ONE complaint on the J&S or Pitbull...

So..if 3-5 out of every 100 sears jacks has a problem...do you want to be in that minority?? or would you prefer to play it safe, and get a jack that has never let anyone down?

20,000 + for a great bike
2-10 K for addons and accesories,
Knowing that your jack will never let you down....PRICELESS
