Default Wind Deflector

Was in the dealership yesterday buying an exhaust gasket, and one of the parts guys was trying to sell me a $25 wind deflector that mounts between the forks and below the batwing. Says it both cuts down on the buffeting effect of the wind coming up from underneath the fairing and helps to redirect the air down anround the enginehelping to keep the engine cooler.

Anyone have one of these and if so is it worth the $$.

It's called a fork air baffle. I have a chrome one and I like it. Having said that, if you don't mind the black one.....it's alot cheaper!

Do they still sell the black ones? I have only seen the chrome unless it's in the book but not online. I was thinking I'd have to find a used one if I decided againt the chrome.

I put one on my Ultra. It helps with theair coming up, not sure how much it helps with cooling the motor.
I think it's worth it. Be sure to chase the threads on the lower tree before installing. 1/4-20 tap.

It's a great add on. Got one for my Ultra about a month ago.
Fork baffles used to be std eqipment for years and then the
MoCo decided to make it an option.
Try it, I thinkyou'll like it.

Yes they sell black ones, you can find them in the parts catalogs as they are stock items on the Roadglides but can't find them in the P&A books. PN#58520-79A $12.70 listed as front wheel air baffle.
