If you measure the stock windshield from the HD sig above the speedo/tach, it's 12/12.5 inches. Just last week, one of the forum members posted a picture of the KW 12" and the Clearview. In the pictures, due to the laydown style, the KW 12" measured 9".

Here it is:

Do you have a P/N for that deflector?
This is it. Sorry, I don't know how to make the link shorter.
I felt some difference when I installed this.

I felt some difference when I installed this.

Here is an example of how to use the Insert Link to use text to createthis link Fork Baffle

In this example, type andhighlight the text "Fork Baffle".
Click on the Insert Link icon on the tool bar, as shown below.
Paste the actual link and press OK.
Change it's size to #2 so it will match the rest of the text.
That's it.

Use the Test Forum to practice.

I actually took the stock windshield off. Just to see. ... Bike looked good, and the fact that the air came over the nose and right at me, made for zero turbulence. Felt pretty cold with out the protection, but I could see clearly.... with the stock windshield I begin to see double around 70-75 MPH... which is NOT a good thing. Cee Bailey has a 9" and an 18"and I can buy both for the price of one of Clearview's or klockwerk's. I'm not saying that's a better deal....or a better product. It just occurs to me I can have the best of both worlds a shorty for the summer, and a tall for the winter. too bad we can't just run down to the dealer and road test the shields...... I do like the Klockwerks style, as well as the Clearview. If only Cee Bailey made a recurve.....

frank

i love the RG too.... great bike 95% of the time
Being you are a Road Glide rider I will share this info with you. For the RG rider, Our windshield is much more attractive and functions better than the typical flat shields out there. More importantlyis how it effects your fairings aerodynamic properties.

We found in the wind tunnel at speed the RG fairing can create about 30 lbs of up force which means it creates lift like a wing. With our flare windshield we reversed that to 15 lbs of down force. This means our windshield will help make your bike more stable. Style and function.

The best sales tool I have for you is education. If you have questions about the windshield please contact us so we can help you to make an informed choice. You can reach us a partsman@kustomcycles.com or at 605-996-3700.

Thank You
Joe

i have read posts on the "new" Klockwerks windshield...and it does not seem like it helps with buffeting...any one know of the Clearview helps with buffeting, or any other windshield.. i have had a few bikes, but the buffeting on my RG is pretty bad about 55-65 mph....any suggestions would be awesome...
Many people post comments and questions about buffeting. From our experience nobody really experiences the same ride.

One mans buffeting is another mans freedom and wind inhis hair. That was intended to be a bit of humor by the way.

What do you experience as far as buffeting now? What do you currently run for a windshield? How tall are you? What do you run for a seat and handlebars?

Our windshield may be right for you and it may not.

Thanks
Joe

Lowers make a huge difference. Even the leather or vinyl ones that go on the crash bar.
My 08 RG is a pleasure to ride with stock WS and vinyl lowers. I'm going for the HD hard lower
soon.

I have the hard lowers. They are great but one suggestion; put a vent in them. I found that you get more heat on you on a warm day, It even made me sleepy while riding on a long trip. I just installed the hoppe air max2. On buffeting, I am 5'9 and on a recent run in 40+mph winds with a shorter w/s, although being blown around a bit (much less than I did on my fatboy w/wind shield).

I thought I was going to be major sore the next day, but I was feeling great when I got home and the next day there was no soreness. I cant say the same for some buddies that day with batwings and dynas with w/s's. They said they could hardly walk back in the house when they got home.
This convinced me that the RG fairing makes for the most comfortable ride. I also find the stock w/s is great on a 1k+ ride, it is easier to hear the radio at 80mph. My .02

My '07 RG is completely stock -the only one!- I'm 6'3" and cannot complain about the wind having ridden without windshields for many years. Sure my head feels some wind, but compared to no shield I could ride like this for weeks. I plan to buy a KW 12" for the looks and hopefully it will perform like described. Can't wait to see ifit improves the already stellar ride.
