Default SERT and Stock Pipes

Have any of you installed the SERT without going with 'true' duals? If so, what were your results? Did it cool the engine down?

Ive got SE slip-ons...and am very happy with the sound. Ive also done the SE A/F and remap. I do like the looks of the bike (exhaust) as it is....

Would like to hear from ya!

Thanks in advance...

Whether you use a SERT, PC III or other fuel management device, the key to help the heat issues on the '07 and later bikes is to richen up the AFR. The bikes come from the factory EPA compliant, and really run lean causing a lot of the heat problems encountered with the later bikes. If you are happy with the way it runs and aren't frying yourself on hot days then I'd just run it like it is. If you change AC and run a high flow one (SE or AN) then you'd be wise to richen it up. might want to check the plugs to give you and indication how lean you are running.

I added the sert and big sucker intake with no change in pipes. Have not run in hot weather so can't tell you about the heat issue. The bike does run stronger and my dyno run shows 75hp and 82fp torque.

The SERT will give you the ability to richen the ARF beyond the download. The download is EPA compliant. The SERT is "for race use only."

I doubt you will see much change in your bike. It may run a little stronger, a little cooler, and your MPG will go down.
