A couple more 10K service questions please
Changed the plugs and air cleaner and plan to change all of the fluids. My question is regarding the other check/adjust items mentioned on the service schedule such as the clutch, brake and throttle cables, idle speed and engine mounts. I'm not looking to cut corners but don't want to spend uneccessary time either. I was wondering if I should go through the step by step processes in the manual for adjusting these items regardless or if it all works, feels and sounds normal then i can assume all is as it should be.

The checklist in the manual is there for a reason and the answer to your question is ...yes ...you should perform thorough maintenence on your motorcycle at 10,000 mi. clutch is important as well as lubrication of cables and also checking critical fasteners and greasing the neck bearings, ect.....It is up to you if you perform these services because it is your motorcycle. I do my service work and did 10,000mi service in December, and although it takes a little extra effort because of all areas that need to be addressed, you will have piece of mind that work was done up to your satisfaction. IMHO
