RE: harley heated seat
Did that too... Thanks I think my seat is bad, as mine was wired wrong too, so I switched it also..... Nothing, nada, zip, zero.... Went to the dealer here in Berlin... he did something I did not even think about.... he took the seat off and hooked it up to a batery, same result nothing... But he checked plugs got 12 volts, checked resistance on the seat, got resistance, it just never got hot, not even warm???? so they ordered me a new seat... I feel bad for them... the seat here is almost 1200 euro's, about 2K US dollars.. I know they get there money back but they had to front it and it takes a few months for them to get it back...

Hey, troutbum I had the same problem. Didn't bother to take it back to dealer since I am a hopeless tinkerer and don't have a lot of patience with the dealer. The problem on mine was with the one-into-two wiring harness connectorthat was wired incorrectly. This is the harness that sends 12V to the two seat switches. It is a four pin connector on the single end of the harness, but they only use two pins. They had wired the hot and ground to the to unused pin locations.I took the connector apart and moved the pins to the right holes. The polarity doesn't seem to matter since they do not take eitherwire to the seat frame. It was good to go after and just in time for cold weather last fall. Plenty of nice heat. I only use it on low even below freezing, but the bride likesherson high. I leave all the funny comments about that to the comics in the crowd.I thought I might be the only one that had the problem, but maybe they had a bad batch of these harnesses. It is worth looking into since it really is a nice seat when the heat is working.
