Default RE: Lowering Blocks

gw, you know I thought that would be the end result as well. However just the opposite occured. Prior to lowering the rear end of my bikeit would wander in the corners. By wander I mean it would not hold a line without wrestling with the bars constantly. In other words the bike was very busy and had to be corrected constantly.Since lowering it the bike takes and holds the line I put it in while cornering. I find the added steadiness to be very comforting especially when 2 up. I am aware that lengthening the bike's stance by lowering it will make it steadier in a straight line but can make it more difficult to corner. Having said that, I feel that perhaps the lower center of gravity that I got from lowering the bike may well have offset any loss of cornering ability. As I'm sure you know less rake on the front forks will cause a bike to be twitchy and unstable when traveling in a straight line. It will also make the bike twitchy in the corners but if racing that is acceptable. I really prefer that my bike goes where I aim it and I don't want to have to constantly be correcting my line in a corner. I don't ride my bike the same way I would ride a sport bike so I prefer it to be a bit tamer and more predictable.
