Hawg-wired is expensive but worth it in my mind. Have had Hogtunes amp and 4 speakers, JBL speakers and both cases I couldn't hear at the radio clear at 70 mph. With the Hawg-wiried amp and speakers my ears bleed with the crystal clear tunes. It all comes down to how much pain (money)tolerance you are willing to put up with. For me I will save my A@# off to get what I want.

Make sure your giving the speakers enough power. Underpowering the speakers (sending a distorted signal) is often worse than driving them over the RMS.

I have a way older style radio then you but when I run a MP3 threw the front AUX and turn up the MP3 it increases the over all volume, probably double or close to it! I am also running Pez's Hogtunes, customer service #1! 75MPH, windy day, 3/4 volume [sm=icon_rock.gif]

The antenna will not help with volume and unless the speakers are defective, I doubt if replacing them will help.
I have an 05 and a pretty bad hearing impairment, yet I have no problems hearing my radio at any speed.
Before you put out big bucks, I'd compare yours to others and make sure you don't have a problem. If you do, have it repaired under warranty.

take a look at www.biketronics.com , then give them a call they can help you. Their stuff is easy to install, works well and is reasonably priced. Oh yeah, their support rocks.

I've had J&M speakers and antenna foa a year now and could not be happier. I have an 05 Ultra and the insallation wae simple for both took about 1.5 hrs. Give 'em a shot, you won't regret it.

+1 for contacting Biketronics. I bought an aftermarket head unit and installed it with their adapter kit while still retaining handlebar controls. They have some awesome kits that are moderately priced and that will increase your power and includes upgraded speakers. Hog tunes is another i'd suggest. I know a thing or two about sound and you cannot go wrong with any of the above.

Good luck!
