Default SE Slip ons

Hey, I just thought I would throw it out there that I am really happy with the HD SE Slip ons w/end caps... I did the SE A/C with the ECM download and the sound going through town, and running down the road is perfect! sounds like a helicopter. I only say this cuz when I was deciding what to go with, every one said they were not much louder than stock... NOT TRUE! They have a lot more presence than stock! Every one turns there head when I spank it going through town, and most importantly to me, on a brand new ride, I am still "UNDER" warrantee!

Lovenit!

Ron

Yes I have to agree, my bro likes his SE setup. It is a lot louder when I am behind him then when he was stock.

My experience with SE slip ons was that the sound was awesome. I still think they are the best sounding muffler I've had on my bike. But for performance they rob you of power. The day I took them off and put on my thunder header slipons was the day my back tire started its demise. It was that much different. I spent money on a 95" kit had cams and my heads ported and polished. It just would perform like I thought it should. mufflers were the difference. now the back tire will go up in smoke like its nothin.

The fact that you changed pipes, whether you use SE's or aftermarkets will not effect your warranty if you have a good dealer and he does the download and install. I had SE's on my 2000 RKC an yes they did soud good and solid but were not nearly loud enough for me after awhile. On my 2008 RKC I had the dealer install Reinharts and a download before I ever even picked the bike up and it to is "still under warranty", extended one even.

Bigismo .. Have those with fishtails on my Road King as well - got to love that sound

Nsodpty52 ... Don't think you can compare... The 64985-07A is the new slipons for 07+ that are 4 in dia. I have them on my new 08 Ultra with 103 stage 2. The sound is near perfect IMO not as loud as the old SE mufflers but a deep rumbling... Can't tell yet if they rob power - they might or might not.

I just got an '08 Road Glide and put the SE slip ons and the SE heavy breather on it. It feels to me like it has more power than stock. If they are robbing power, it sure doesn't feel like it. I like the sound a lot - great tone and bite, but I can still hear the stereo great when just cruising along.

There are several versions of the SE slip ons for touring bikes. I have the 80491-07 slash down one piece slip ons.

After 1200 miles I think they sound great. Not as loud as the SE II's I had on my Wide Glide, but they are exactly the sound and performance I wanted. Personally I thought the SE II's were too loud if you rode more than 100 miles. Unless I wore ear plugs my ears would be ringing which isn't good.

There's alot of SE slip on bashing on the forum, but I couldn't be happier.
