..still got time,dont leave until the 23rd of April,so I should be alot closer anyway (I hope),let the dealer do the 1K then I'll do the rest,wanna make appointment..been so busy at work Ride time limited!![:@]....commute??...whats that?...about 25 yard's from front door of house to front door of office!!

Lets see 25 yards, four times a day (presume lunch) seven days a week for the next two weeks, would get you an additional 3/4 of a mile

Before you go, not only fresh oil all your adjustments are made. Bike always runs better after they shop goes over it. You got a month go ride a little. IMO

I had the same situation a month ago and had the service done before I went.Doing it beforelet the bike run in fresh fluids for the 1100 miles we rode

600 miles! Sounds like 1 or 2 days of riding! How long you had that bike anyway? Just kidding. Maybe put a few more miles on if you can and do the service before you leave.

If you haven't done an oil change on it yet definitely do it before. You probably already have some metal shavings in the oil pan from the first few break in miles, plus the clutch cable tends to do most of its stretching in the first few hundred miles (at least mine did). If you are going to have the dealership do the service I would recommned doing it awhile before you take off on the trip, so you have a chance to ride it a little and check things over before taking off.

Looks like the BEFOREs are winning. I agree also. Have you thought about changing to synthetic?

Oh oh . . . now I REALLY opened a can of worms . . . here we go . . .
