Where abouts in the Great White North are you lotus? I'm gonna guess BC?

Unfortunately used HD prices up here are still way out of wack with the prices in the States. Just the way it is. Have you tought of bringing a bike in from the States? It's not as hard as you would think and you could save a pack of cash.

A dealer by me has an 05 Road King Custom listed at 17895 BUT it comes loaded up with a Tour pak, full stage 1 and all the shiney goodies you could ask for.

Check out House of Thunder in Camrose, AB ( http://www.houseofthunder.ca/ ) or,
Robinsons Motorcycle in ON ( http://robinsonmotorcycle.com/ )

good luck

Pauly

Thanks for the info. I have come to the conclusion that this bike is too expensive and the mechanical info on the 05 valves and heads is invaluable.
I live about 35min from Barrie in Ontario Canada.

Stay away from that deal I sold my 2005 Road King Std with 10000miles for $13,000.00. Bike was in mint condition and I thought, maybe to keep it but for that money, I sold it to the guy on the spot and he rode it home, I thought I had a fish on the hook and he thought he got a good deal looking back now he got the better of the deal, the bike was super mint and dealer serviced, garage kept!!! So for $17000.00 no way I just bought my new bike an 08 FLHTC Dresser no ABS $18,300.00 !! The Road King cost me new in 05 $15,500.00 I bought it at the end of the 05 riding season, who the hell is the dealer tryin to sell you that load??Bill

I bought my 07' RK for under 17,500. A bit steep and quite a few miles.

I need some advice. I have found an 05 RK standard with 43k km on it at dealer near my home town. The bike is in great shape no visible marks in paint, not rust and no scratches. I have made a date to test drive it. It was serviced at the dealership and it was traded on an 08 RK standard. They are asking 17K for it, is that reasonable? I know most would have to see it to make an informed decision, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks
A quick read of your post makes me think you are not in the U.S. Canada, maybe? You need to find bike prices in your country. U.S. prices are different.

i agree with everyone that the price is was too high, last year i bought a 2006 roadking standard, with a 6 speed trans, vance and hines oval slipons, cruise control, se air cleaner kit, sert and the bike was dyno tuned with a custon map, and the motor also had a 95 kit done to it, and best of all the bike only had 1,800 miles on it and i walked out the door with the bike for 16,000, so you should look around more because that price is off the wall.
Youwalked out the door with the bike ???

Is that why you got it for 16,000
