Default AIM VP-008-92T

My clutch is slipping using AIM's VP92t and I'm only at 109 torque running my break in map. I assumed that the product would work without the heavy duty spring considering it's rated up to a 124" motor and up to 145" motor with a Heavy-Duty spring .

$300 bucks later plus labor, it looks like should I should have went with the $30.00 spring. Maybe I'm missing something about this product??

Any ideas what the problem is? Bike is an 08 with 6k miles.

Did you readjust the clutch after installing the VPC?

Dawg, Very little slack in the lever. Is there an adjustment to the clutch itself?

Thanks!

Yea, you need to do a clutch adjustment at the clutch hub and then adjust at the lever after.

Thanks again.

I called AIM and they told me exactly what you said,...have the mechanic adjust the end-play at the hub.

Update:

My clutch was fried. I thought I had some slipping after installing the PCIII and now it is affirmative. Mechanic told me they see fried baskets every now and then from people who add the PCIII, pipes and air cleaner and do not install the heavy duty spring.

Clutch is being replaced today after 6k miles and a $30 spring could have saved me a lot of money.

You know what, I thought I felt my clutch slipping last Saturday. I know I've read that the stock clutch springs aren't really that great, but never thought a complete stage 1 upgrade would warrant replacing the spring. At any rate, I bought a SE Spring last week. The dealer was having a sale and I figured I would use it when I finally do a 103" kit. Guess I'll throw it in now.

Thanks for the heads up. Congrats on the build.

Yeah, the 92T should handle whatever that 107 can throw at it, so you must have fried the plates prior to adding the VPC. Just wait till you twist the wick and everything hooks up like it is supposed to !!!
