Default Thundermax Pinging 07 Ultra Classic

I installed a new Thundermax on my 07 Ultra. Bike runs so much smother and power is good. Then i noticed a slight ping. When crusing and opening throttle ver slowly it picks up speed good no ping. If i open throttle hard ping comes in at 2500 RPM and up. Does this no matter what gear or at what speed. I have upgraded my firmware and sofware have the new 4.6 version firmware. According to Zippers i have the right map for my bke. I tried to take some timeing out as Zippers recommends but didnt work. I took out 2 degrees at RPM zones where i have problem occuring and didnt work i did this 3 times to where i had 6 degrees out of timing with smae problem and power was gone. I eneded up puting timing at 2 degrees less than original map still has good power but oing is there also. Very slight. I noticed as it gets hotter it gets more noticiable. IT IS NOT THE GAS. Anyone have this problem with the thundermax? I have the 96 inch stock motor with stock exhaust and vance and hines slip ons with a zippers 2 3/4 inch high flow cleaner. Any help appreciated!

Try adding more fuel in the offending rpm range. What map # are you using?

i have a very similar problem. its done it from the time i bought it. i had sert and etc. installed a couple of weeks ago. brought it home did not notice any issues, but came back. changed fuel 2x and added octane. helped but kinda hard to figure how much to put in since all are for 20 gal or more per bottle. i put in sunoco today which reduced the ping and then added octane. seemed to work, but wasn't able to really test it, easter dinner.

I think I took 8* out of mine from 2300 to 2700 and let tune from there. I'm relatively happy with the set up, however the milage dropped to an average of39. With gas going up every day I think I'll move it back more to original and increase the milage and live with a little ping every now and then. Initially I got 49+- interstate.

WOW Im only getting 32 mpg at best thats open highway. Im alittle discouraged with my Thundermax. The pinging i cant live with i richend i up in the 2500 range and have 2 degrees timing out of it. Thought i might be ok untill today i heard it pinging again it was hotter today here in texas. I see Notoruious you took 8 degress timing out Damn does it still have power at all? I took out 6 degrees on mine but didnt have any power so i put it back to 2 degress less than map. I still dont understand fullyhow to adjust the AFR. I dont understnd all the map pages every 256 RPM. Every map page covers the entire RPM range dosent it from 0 to 7000 RPM. Do i have to change just one page or all of them for the AFR? Im putting on some Rineharts so i will be changing maps if the ping dosent go away i will get rid of Thundermax. Ping will destroy a engne over time. Anyone can help me out i appreciate it. Thanks
