All righty then.

Did you do the procedure on page 152 of the owners manual?

You have to perform it twice.

Sounds like the Alarm is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

Once the sequence is posted, I bet its fine.

I don't get lights,
Hmmmm, I'd take a look at the ignition switch again. Even if the alarm had you locked out you should still get headlights.

My money is on the alarm. I was told that if it is tripped it does disable the whole deal. I could be wrong, but ???

Could be.

Jeff,

Step back a minute and look at it this way.

1. Did you reconnect all the cables before you buckled up the fairing?

2. Double check the battery connections (yeah, I know)

3. Remove and reseat the key lock on the column again

I think those would be the only three things that could be holding you up.

I just went out and armed my Ultra and I still got headlights when I turned the ign switch on with the alarm tripped.

I believe the alarm has a kill switch feature - when you took out the battery you must have tripped it - I believe it's some type of security feature it should be highlighted in the owner manuel. But at the very least call the dealer when they open really nothing to be concerned about -

I don't think I need to say this - but I will anyway - from now on put the battery tender on the battery while it's still in the bike.

AK_Hog_Herder - from what I remeber everything was connected before the fairing was refastened. I DID NOT do the sequence as you indicated on pg. 152. I am going out to the garage now (11:13 pm est) to try it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works.

However, I will go back in there tomorrow morning and look it over again. Again, this makes no sense to me. I cannot even get the cigarrette lighter to work. I also check the battery with my Ohm meter 12.67 volts

William & AK_Hog_Herder - I pulled the ignition again and tried putting it in a different way. It will go in 180 degrees off from where I had it but then it is not where it should be (ie; alignment of markings to position on the face plate). Still no luck either way it is positioned in the shaft.

wild pig - I NOW have a battery tender Jr. which I was going to hook up tonight once I fired it up and made sure everything was cool. I guess I'm a little too late now... Bur again, it has been charging in my 72+ degree basment for 3 months or so now. The battery NEVER lost its' charge.

Shift_4lo - without getting lights, radio, horn etc... I don't think push starting will help. If I had the those items hell I'd try to push start it in the snow if I could. There is something funky going on with the electrical end of itt on my bike - I just don't know what it is.

Thanks again everyone for your input.
