Whats the range HD rider passgr intercom?
No HD Service people are able to answer my question: if Ultra Classic equipped with the WIRELESS rider/passenger intercom, can another rider wearing the passenger's helmet next to the Ultra, will the system still work & up to what distance?
I'm sure there is some Federal law the prohibits/limits the transmission range of any wireless intercom.
Any thoughts?

Yeah, came out in 06 w/ the Harmon/Kardon audio system.
It struck me a couple of years ago on a roadtrip in the SouthWest, that if you GOTTA ride with a helmet, It would be pretty handy on a roadtrip. And think of riding in a pack, a roadcaptian could talk w/ the drag about upcoming lane changes, etc....

I didn't know Harley offered a wireless set and kinda don't think so - mine came with corded sets. We tried a couple Chatterbox radios a few years back, and they sucked - lots of interference and problems with stuck microphone. I won't mind the wired intercom, just for consistency.

Guess I was mis-informed about the Harmon/Kardon.
Reading the manual now.......sez the intercom works through the CB system.
Might off been this contraption I heard of.
Advanced Audio Intercom Kit
Keep the lines of communication open. This easy-to-use voice activated intercom system allows the rider and passenger to communicate without resorting to hand signals. Independent volume controls allow rider and passenger to adjust the sound to comfortable levels. The integrated system automatically lowers the radio volume when the intercom is in use.

Fits '06-later Touring models equipped with an Advanced Audio Radio and a rigid mount Tour-Pak® luggage system.
