15 years ago when big A was still in business (bankrupt).
I started using their filters, They were made by WIX
Carquest came, I continued on.
There is absolutely no reason not to use it.
It is high quality and as you can see they stand behind their product.
No questions asked unlike Harley Davidson.
This situation should never have gotten out of hand.
I did NOT start it Harley and their dealer did.
I was in the right and I knew it.
I had to show them that their are people out here who aren't afraid of them
and will fight them. Most of you won't.
You come here with an apparently legitimate complaint and whine and want sympathy.
How many actually fight? from what I've seen so far NONE!
I'm showing you it can be done.
Well I got a little sidetracked on the question.

What was your rationale to use a Carquest filter?

Until Harley changes their policy and attitude, I refuse to buy a damn thing from them.
They have refused to cover numerous items on my bike under warranty that should be.
Brand new chrome guard rail with a tit that now broke off and will start to rust.
gas tank dash panel split and 15 months
passenger back rest arms ripping from underneath
POS ambient air temp gauge
F. upped radio (2 replacements so far)
and last but not least the apparent oil sumping problem robbing my bike of power on the highway.

And yes I hope they are watching this forum and see that I am trying to galvanize you all
and your friends, buddies, riding partners into action. Stand up fight for your rights.

Can we move on to something else?[sm=why.gif] I think this is round two for something that should be in the Sportster forum.

Had to convert from word and could not get letterhead to import right, so here is text.
G/F name blanked out.

I am about to take my 07 RK in for a warranty problem, the front brakes are grabbing.

Could I fix it myself, no doubt. With just under 7K mileson the bike I shouldn't have to.

I've changed the bars, so I am expecting the dealership to mention this, but rest assured they will fix my grabbing brakes under warranty.

Well I am not one to lay down ,and take it either.
If I feel that a problem should be fixed under warenty I get it fixed under warenty!
I have a good dealer, and I know the wrench that does all of my work by first ,and last name, he will get stuff done for me.
