Watch for idiots smoking while they drive. If you see the moron take more than two drags in a row, he's about to launch that freaking thing out of the window.
There is nothing I hate more than to have to dodge a cigarette that some idiot threw out a window. Those things hurt like hell when they hit you...Don't ask me how I know.

When following a car, and I see an oncoming car stopped, I assume that he is #1:, going to turn left, and #2:, won't see me behind the car to my front.
In those instances, I move way to the left part of my lane, nearly on the dividing line, to insure that he has a clear line of sight to me.

I approach going for a ride my scoot as if I am preparing and going into a combat situation. Every cager, truck, bus, bicycle rider and every living thing out there is going to try and maim or kill me. Never trust any of them. Be alert and watchful and practice emergency manouvers and stops frequently.

Learn how your bike handles on gravel, dirt, sand, grass and mud.
Practice emergency stops with your passenger so they know what to expect.
Headlight modulators are great.
No such thing as too big a brake light. I have a 14 inch, 50 light LED brake light on my tour pak.
I always slow on blind hills and blind corners, you never know what is going to be there.
Do NOT let anyone tailgate you, either let them pass, or flash your brakes until they back off.
Never ride in anyones blindspot.
Don't be hesitant to use your horn or blip your throttle...I prefer the the throttle. Can't tell you how many times a cage has stopped the beginning of a stupid move when they heard the throttle blipped.
I don't give a flying crap if people are inconvenienced a bit by my headlight modulator or my 2" Rush slip-ons. I want them to see and/or hear me and pay attention!

Just started riding again 5 years ago after 25 years off a bike. I am a much better rider now after 5 years of riding ALTHOUGH i can still improve so . . .
Just bought RIDE LIKE A PRO V. My plan is to watch it and practice in a parking lot. So the biggest thing I've learned is to . . .
EMPTY MY CUP AND KEEP AN OPEN MIND. I can always learn and improve my riding skills especially at slow speeds.
Who agrees????
