I have an old Arai 1/2, and I do mean old --I've been using it for over 15 years, and it was used when I got it (it belonged to a friend's father who had passed on).Iintend to replace it soon, as warmer weather is not that far off, even here in New England. I want another1/2 shell, but I want it to be as small and light as possible and still be DOT certified.

Was rear-ended while at a full stop (in line at stop sign) by a kid gettin off the i-805 south; kid was doin at least 55 in a marked 15mph turn when he left 15 yrds of skid, hit the guard rail, bounced off it and then hit me.
I was wearing an ACC non-dot beanie

For really cold days or if it starts to rain, I have a SHOEI Multi-Tec with J&M Performance Series headset/lower cord for audio & comms.
For other days when riding with people that use comms, I wear my SHOEI RJ-Platinum R with J&M Performance Series headset/lower cord.
For days when I'm just out and about on my own, I have a Vega Carbon-Fiber 1/2 helmet.
Options are great and I've got one to cover any situation!
