Default Radio Shack Siren DIY Install Really Rocks!

On Saturday, I plunked down the $5.49 for the siren that has been in several threads. Today, after installing some more mandatory "safety" chrome, I decided to install the siren.

I looked up the thread and followed the directions. Took all of 15 minutes to insert the wires,do some testing, and button it back up. Man, that little bugger is nice and loud.

Definitely, one of the best and most inexpensive mods I have done to my scoot. For those with the security system, this is a great addition.

A bit later I'll see about posting the latest "safety" chrome additions to my scoot.

It not only beat the heck out of paying 70 or 80 dollars for the HD part...mine even got me motivated to start wrenching on my bike again! It's a great feeling when I do something mechanical and it still works...

I did the radio shack alarm and the process was easy, a good tip for anyone wanting to install the alarm without going thru HD...

Heard about this before. Does it work like all others with motion or what?

Can some one post the wiring for an 08 Ultra

Hi IB,

Here isa link that talks about the 08s. The connector for the siren is on the left side with the 08s.

If you follow the threaddown, there is another link that takes you to the more detailed instructions.

Yep. If you mess with it, move it or turn on the ignition without the security fob, it gets all upset and starts screaming.

Also, gives you a couple of warning chirps, if the bike is just bumped.

I don't have the factory HD system but I suppose it works like a car alarm. The link above only works for 08 with HD sysem?

Hey glidepride,

The link does focus on the HD system. Not sure about your system but as you state it is probably like a car alarm.
