You took your heel shifter off? I would be trying to find anotherone to install.

I have the chrome spacers for single and dual shifters listed on Riderswap.com. They are chrome and come with the wave washer to keep pressure against the shifter to prevent rattle. They are cheap.

The man, knows what the words customize and frugal are at the same time. This is old school biker ingenuity. I used to extend old springers with radius rods.

One look at your avatar and I completely understand your frugal nature.

ORIGINAL: dawg

Yea but I didn't like the cap because I like to have my shifter moved out instead of inside.
My thoughts to. Comming home with my new Ultra my pants leg got caught on my heel shifter. I took it off as soon as I got home. As a welder I have lots of metal just laying around. I found a round stainless steel bar. Drilled it to fit the shifter shaft cut to size and ploished. Took about 30 min... cost $0.00
good job well done dawg

I much prefer to fab my own stuff if possible. We can buy anything we want but it won't have the personal touch

I took the heel shifter and cut the end off . Ground & polished the cut end and put it back on. Heel shifter is gone and have a double clamp as before. Works for me. I like the grease zerk or zert idea depending on who's spelling it. Maybe next weekends project.
