I was down at my mother's house fixing her disposal and found an old wind chime in the basement that uses the anodized aluminum tubes. So I took it and thought hey, shifter covers since I had removed my heel shifter! I then went into my shed and grabbed an old hose that I had that would be perfect and started cutting that up. I took one piece of aluminum, taped it up so the cutter wouldn't hurt it and cut it with a tubing cutter to the size I needed. Slid the hose inside the tubing and installed it and voila!

Good job. I spent $20 for the Kurry part that looks exactly the same. Take a look . . .

Yes, I did it in my 04 and in my 08. Just drill and tap a hole and put a zerk in it. Like stated, I used the stock zerk from the steering neck and replaced that with a 45 degree zerk for easier neck bearing greasing....killed two birds with one stone.

Very nice. I also don't like the HD solution of an end cap...so I made my own spacer...

Guess I will "chime" in on this one.
Looks good, I prefer the shifter inside but ohh well... I learned zerk is not a zert, LOL. All this time I thought it was a grease zert...[sm=bangbang.gif][sm=boink3.gif]stupid I tell ya..

I think you got a bit too much time on your hands. That and its winter.....so I think by Spring you will be back to buying your parts over the counter again.
