Which way to go With an automatic tuner for a 2007? Anyone compared the tuners for all around street use?

Let us know how it goes, and if you learn any tricks. I'll be installing mine in the next month or so.

I've been using the DTT system since last August.........great so far. Only thing it needs is auto timing with knock detection.........that would make either one of them a true auto-tune system.

I like my DTT system, bike runs smoother then it ever did and the power is great after you let it tune and apply the BLM's a few times.

Thanks for the information. Since they do not have anti knock, as does the stock ECM, is that a problem? What, if any, difference in fuel milage? Not that fuel milage is that big of an issue except when there is a long way between fuel stops or if trying to cover a lot of miles between stops.

I've been running a DTT for over a year now and have reasonably good understanding of it and a general knowledge of the TMax.

If you have a decent understanding of tuning and are reasonably mechanically inclinded, I'd suggest the DTT. If you just wanna plug something in and run it, then the tmax may be a better fit.

The biggest core difference is the way they handle timing.

The TMax is a fully Alpha-N device ~ both fuel & timing are controlled by TPS / RPM

The DTT is Alpha-N for fuel delivery, but is Speed Density (MAP / RPM) for timing control.

Both require manual timing tuning ~ as does the stock ECM.

If I stay around 60-65 mph, I can get 45-50 mpg. But if I do my normal 75-80 mph, I'm down around 35-40 mpg.

Another vote for Thundermax. No knocking the other system, just never used/ridden it. 06 Streetglide, Rineharts, SE intake. gas mileage better, cooler running, and no missing. I can occasionally get it to pop while engine braking, but other than that? Does the trick and adds a little crispness to throttle response. Good luck with the search.

I no longer recommend the Thundermax ECU...
