RE: Baker 7 Spd tranny for 07s
This is the most info I saw http://www.cyrilhuzeblog.com/2008/03...-transmission/At what point does changing 1st gear go before it becomes useless?and someone still only has 6 practical gears.
The Harley-Davidson factory 6-speed ratios are: 1st (3.34), 2nd (2.30), 3rd (1.71), 4th (1.41), 5th (1.18), 6th (1.00). The Baker DD7 transmission will have the following ratios : 1st (3.76), 2nd (2.75), 3rd (2.06), 4th (1.55), 5th (1.27), 6th (1.10), 7th (1.00). They say it will be quieter than the DD6. I have a DD6 and not sure how it will be much quieter

But hell, I don't think it'd fit my scoot anyway.

The pre 02 bikes will benefit from these as the gearing was different on the 01 bikes. I run a DD6 on my 01 and it still turns some rpms at 80+ mph. Another gear wouldn't hurt me at all.
