Helmet Law for Vermont
Road trip this summer will take me into Vermont while heading for Maine. How serious is this reflection law for helmets? Do I have to stick crappy tape all over our helmets to avoid a ticket? Is this only for night riding? I want to ride Vermont but not if I have to deface our helmets for some nutty regulation. If anyone has had any experience with this would love to read your experiences with riding in Vermont

RE: Helmet Law for Vermont
We live in western Mass right on the VT border.........been riding up there for most of 40 yrs and have never had any probs with the reflection requirment, and no, never had a helmet with any kind of reflective **** on it. You should have zero probs over that. Of course, like with anything else, if you act like an idiot, they will use that if they can't get you any other way. Bottom line: don't worry bout it!

RE: Helmet Law for Vermont
We have a reflective law for helmets here in Vermont??? Yeah, I know it's required but I have never been stoppped nor have I ever heard of anyone else being harrassed for lack of reflective tape on a helmet. Come on up and play on Rte 100 or other great Vermont roads.

RE: Helmet Law for Vermont
Thanks for all the responses. The law I was refering to was tha Vermont required a 4 square inch reflective patch on both sides of helmet for rider and passenger. My thoughts were if this was a enforced law I was going to bypass Vermont while riding to Maine. 100 highway is part of the ride we intend to do and it seems it still can be. Thanks again
